Being able to do so with a passive that is always active is nice and it can occasionally make a difference. There aren’t that many methods of increasing base critical hit chance in Rogue Legacy 2. However, it does not apply to spells or any other damage not dealt by your primary weapon.Īlthough this isn’t the strongest passive by any means, it is still useful. This applies to swings, charge attacks, and spin kicks. It adds a 5% critical hit chance to all weapon-based attacks.
Veteran is the Knight’s new passive ability in Rogue Legacy 2. It also grants some invulnerability frames, providing an opportunity to maneuver in ways that would otherwise result in you getting hurt. However, if you time the block just before an attack hits, a Perfect Block is granted, nullifying all damage. It also applies the Vulnerable debuff to nearby enemies, making all attacks that follow deal critical damage. Shield Block reduces incoming damage by 50% and destroys any incoming projectiles. This alone is strong, but this talent goes far beyond just being just a simple defensive tool. When used, it triggers a 10-second cooldown. As its name would suggest, this involves pulling out a shield and blocking an incoming attack. In Rogue Legacy 2, the Knight class can use the Shield Block talent. It’s a great option for closing the gap on enemies while dealing some extra damage. If you dash as you attack, the following attack will always deal critical damage.
The Great Sword is one of the weapons in Rogue Legacy 2 to have access to a guaranteed critical hit. This is useful for poking enemies for damage and then retreating to a safe distance. By swinging and then moving in the opposite direction, you will move backward while attacking forwards. When using the Great Sword ,it is possible to moonwalk attacks. It is a melee weapon that hits hard, assuming you can get within its effective range. The Knight class utilizes history’s most iconic weapon: the sword. Once the tutorial is finished, you’ll be thrown into the castle for your very first run. All you have to do is complete the tutorial, which is mandatory at the start of any new save. Despite being the starter class, the Knight is actually one of the strongest classes in the game. It’s a jack-of-all-trades class with a nice balance of offense and defense. Maybe it’s the fondness of that stage of my gaming life that keeps me coming back for more. I probably lost numerous matches because of it. To hell with naval units!!! I also thoroughly enjoyed Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 and playing against friends online, even though I had dial-up. I almost always played as the Soviets and was all about Mammoth Tanks, Tesla Coils, and Atomic Bombs. I loved the campaign and absolutely loved playing against the computer in skirmishes. When I was in middle school, Command & Conquer: Red Alert was my favorite game. An overhead, isometric view of a massive map with various types of terrain, resources, structures, and units is a little overbearing on consoles.Īnother problem could come from within. Another big culprit is the scale of the map. Console controllers essentially strip all of those away. RTS games demand speed, precision, and foresight. For me, the control scheme is the biggest culprit.

This is incredibly disappointing because I am not a PC gamer (haven’t been for the last 10-15 years), so I am missing out on a genre that I used to really enjoy, and probably still would if I were a PC gamer.īut what is the real problem? Is it a bad control scheme, lack of crisp visuals, frame rate issues, or what? Maybe it’s a little bit of all of the above. I keep trying, and I’ve come to the realization that it’s never going to work for me. Like Command & Conquer, Warcraft 2, Supreme Commander 2, and Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, and other real time strategy games on PC, gameplay experiences like these haven’t been enjoyable for me on consoles.
